The soul purpose of rūh

Yes...we know we spelt it as 'soul' instead of sole *wink wink*

It all started just over a year ago when I felt a sudden need to create something meaningful for our Muslim community, focusing on the significance of a Nikah/نكاح.

As a wedding photographer primarily within the South Asian Muslim community, the slight overshadowing of the beauty of a Nikah has always bothered me. Don't get me wrong; everyone should celebrate their wedding however they choose. But, I often see just how much effort families put into weddings and other celebrations, & I simply wanted to create something that would give the magical moment of a Nikah the complete attention that it deserves.

As two people born and raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, my husband Anas and I feel blessed to be deeply influenced by the rich Arabic heritage and the Islamic faith. -`♡´-

With Anas' degree in Graphic Design, obsession with anything design-related, Islamic art and his small, but growing, library of books on arabesque patterns, combined with my need to address the beauty of a Nikah and exposure to the wedding industry, it all just came together, Alhumdulillah.

It only made sense for us to create a space where we could express our interests artistically. After a year of countless discussions, doubts, ifs, hows, and brainstorming, Creative Ruh, or simply ruh, was finally born!
